Arts Council of York County

Centrally located in historic downtown Rock Hill, the Arts Council has established an arts anchor on two blocks of Main Street. The Center for the Arts and Gettys Art Center are currently home to offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Dalton Gallery, the Edmund Lewandowski Classroom, the Rock Hill Pottery Center, the SC Arts Alliance and private artist studios. The Arts Council recently opened the new Community Performance Center, which hosts a variety of music, theatre and dance performances. Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm; Saturday, 10:00am to 2:00pm; Sunday, 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Main Street Children's Museum

Creative, educational fun for the very young. The museum's interactive exhibits were inspired by the whimsical artwork of the late Vernon Grant. Main Street Children's Museum offers memory-making family experiences and enriches early childhood education as children engage in creative, developmental play. Although the target audience is through age 6, older siblings are also welcome to participate. Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday noon - 5pm.

York County Library

York County Library provides audiobooks, books, DVDs, videos, magazines, reference materials, genealogical resources, databases, computers and internet access to the community. The library offers computer classes, programs for children, teens, and adults, and bookmobile service. Patchwork Tales Storytelling Festival, featuring nationally known storytellers, is hosted by York County Library each year. Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am-9pm, Friday 9am - 6pm, Saturday: 9am- 6pm, Sunday (September - May): 2pm - 6pm.

Old Town Rock Hill Festivals and Events

Downtown also hosts a number of award-winning festivals and events throughout the year, including the Come-See-Me Festival in April, Downtown Blues Festival in October, Christmasville in December, and numerous outdoor celebrations during the summer.
